Sherry prayed to find a way to help her hard working mother to not have to struggle so much\, so she made a deal with the Lord to have her mother agree to let her stay with her father\, whom she dearly loved\, and in return she would stick to the bargain\, no matter how much she missed her mom and her sisters. Sherry did not bargain for a tiny crowded house where she had to sleep on a trunk at the foot of the bed and if she wanted to eat\, she would have to pick fruit off the trees\, and dodge assaults from her cousin’s boyfriends.  \nFinally\, her father remarried and moved out with his wife and kids from a previous marriage\, and more on the way\, but her new life was hardly better than the old one\, as she was tasked with raising the growing brood\, and this meant no school. Through it all\, she prayed daily to God\, attended services every night and finally\, through the church\, help came in unexpected ways. Her life turned around\, and a path opened up\, allowing her to pursue her dreams.
